Coronavirus pandemic has invaded one of the most-loved and most-recognised households of the Indian subcontinent – the family of megastar Amitabh Bachchan.
Mr Bachchan and his son Abhishek Bachhan were admitted into a Mumbai hospital after they tested positive to coronavirus late Saturday night.
Although earlier media reports suggested they were safe from the virus, Indian Express reported today that Aishwarya Rai, another actor in the Bachchan family, and her daughter Aradhya, have now tested positive to coronavirus.
The mother and daughter are however being looked after at their Mumbai residence, the report said, with both being “asymptomatic”.
Both Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek Bachchan are at the same hospital, social media posts by the actor duo suggest.
The legendary Bollywood personality tweeted early Sunday morning to break the concerning development on his fans, that he had tested Covid-19 positive and had been shifted to hospital. His tweet also added that his family members and staff had undergone tests and that results were being awaited.

“All that have been in close proximity to me in the last 10 days are requested to please get themselves tested!” the ever-righteous Mr Bachchan, son of famous poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, urged.

Abhishek Bachchan had earlier used his Twitter handle to update his fans saying he and his father were showing “mild symptoms” before he repeated what the senior Bachchan had earlier requested: that those who had been in close contact with the actors should get tested for Covid-19.
Earlier today both my father and I tested positive for COVID 19. Both of us having mild symptoms have been admitted to hospital. We have informed all the required authorities and our family and staff are all being tested. I request all to stay calm and not panic. Thank you. ??
