
31 December 2019 I A newly-opened Dubai hotel becomes the only five-star hotel in the world to permanently fly the legendary Rato Ra Chandra Surya, Nepal’s crimson national flag.

Nepal’s first Forbes billionnaire, Binod Chaudhary, launched the Taj Jumeirah Lake Towers on 8 December. CG Hospitality, a wing of the multinational conglomerate CG Corp Global, owns 50 percent shares of the luxury hotel.
CG Corp Global, headquartered in Kathmandu, has footprints in 20 different countries and draws on the collective business acumen of the Chaudhary family spanning four generations. It is currently Nepal’s first and only billion dollar corporation to be listed by Forbes.
“CG Hospitality’s journey started in 2001, when Binod Chaudhary, Chairman of CG Corp Global, invested
in Taj Samudra, Sri Lanka along with two Taj properties in the Maldives,” a statement by the company proudly reads, “Continuing his father’s entrepreneurial legacy, Rahul Chaudhary joined the already successful CG Corp Global in 2006 as Managing Director.”
CG Corp claims its hospitality portfolio has grown by 4,300 percent over the last 13 years, with footprints in 11 countries.
Rahul Chaudhary manages a portfolio of 130 hotels out of which 94 are already in operation while the rest are expected to open within the next two years. The Group aims to operate over 200 hotels and resorts in not-so-distant a future.
With the investment in the Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT), CG Hospitality has established its HQ in Dubai to cover the Middle-East, Europe and Africa markets.
According to CG Global, the Taj JLT Dubai “is a timeless combination of century-old legacy and luxury woven together with contemporary sensibilities and quintessential Indian heritage”.
With the launch of this major hotel operation, Rahul Chaudhary brings CG Hospitality’s distinguishing luxury and ethical benchmarks to the UAE, and the iconic hotel will set a new benchmark in ‘Business Luxury’ in the region’s hospitality sector.
