28 December 2018: Police in South Australia are seeking public assistance to help locate Nischal Ghimire, a 22-year-old man from the Adelaide suburb of Clarence Park.
Mr Ghimire was last seen around 4 pm on 27 December “when he attended an Edwardstown address to pick up a child he cares for and took him to the beach at Glenelg”, a press release by South Australia Police said today.
Police believe Mr Ghimire and the child had been swimming at the beach.
“Police were alerted about 12.30am on 28 December when the pair were reported missing after failing to return from Glenelg beach. About the same time, the child was found lost and wandering by a resident on the Esplanade, Glenelg North. The child has since been returned safely to his parents,” police said in the statement.
Police located Mr Ghimire’s white Mitsubishi Colt parked near the beach.
Police carried out an extensive search by foot, air and sea but failed to locate the missing young man.
Anyone who saw Nischal Ghimire at Glenelg beach or has information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the police assistance line immediately on 131 444.
