28 June 2017: Police in Sydney have arrested and charged a young man from Nepal for taking secret footages of female colleagues and shoppers at a Surry Hills supermarket.

Bibek Guragain was arrested late Saturday night after an 18-year-old woman saw a camera in the bathroom of the Surry Hills store, Sydney Morning Herald reported today. Police charge sheet alleges Mr Guragain secretly filmed his targets “in a private act without consent to obtain sexual arousal or gratification”, the daily reported today.

Police apparently found footages, filmed between February 16 and June 24, of people taken usually late night or early morning.

The 23 year old man appeared Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday facing scores of charges “totalling three counts of filming a person in a private act without consent, and 12 charges of filming a person’s private parts without consent,” SMH reported.

According to the report, the “upskirting”-accused is due back in court on July 11.
