30 May 2017: In a recent interview with Indian news agency PTI, Bollywood personality Manisha Koirala took “full responsibility” for her short-lived marriage with Nepalese businessman Samrat Dahal.
“I take full responsibility of hurrying up and wanting to get married and then realising I am not meant for this. There is no fault from other side, the fault is mine,” she was quoted as saying.
Her only focus right now is her work and life, she said, indicating she was in no hurry to rush into another relationship anytime soon. “Let me live life like this for a while,” she told PTI.
The Dil Se actress had married Mr Dahal amid a five-star wedding reception in 2010.
Manisha Koirala hails from Nepal’s top political family, the Koiralas. Her granddad Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala was a prolific writer and the Himalayan nation’s Prime Minister from 1959 to 1960. He was instrumental in establishing Nepali Congress as a social democratic political party.
Ms Koirala is currently busy promoting her upcoming movie Dear Maya, due to be released on June 2. Thanks to her candid and total indulgence in social media, where she does not shy away from expressing her love for life, mother and healthy lifestyle, it is generating massive response across the Subcontinent.
Written and directed by Sunaina Bhatnagar, Dear Maya explores the poignant story of a middle-aged woman who is tricked into believing that a guy who fleetingly saw her twenty years ago is now pouring his heart in love-letters. Trouble for the two young girls, the ghostwriters of those love-letters, begins when Maya sells everything she owns to go to Delhi to find her suitor.
