19 December 2016: Nepali-language edition of The Governance of China, President Xi Jinping’s much-acclaimed book, was launched on Sunday amid a special function held at the presidential palace in Kathmandu.
According to Xinhua, the book contains 79 speeches, talks, interviews, notes and letters of the Chinese president dating between November 2012 to June 2014.
“This book informs about the ruling system of China, dreams of Chinese leaders and deepens our world understanding. These sorts of publications help us to understand China from closer and boost our cultural relations (sic),” Xinhua quoted Nepal’s president Bidya Devi Bhandari as saying.
China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration (CFLPA) claims over 5.2 million copies of the book have been distributed so far in 100 countries across the world. Apart from Nepali language, the book has also been translated into English, French, Russian, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, German and Japanese.
Madan Regmi, chairman of the China Study Center that published the book, told Xinhua that the translated version of Mr Jinping’s book will help Nepali people better understand China because it “has clearly embodied Chinese vision, strategy of governance and rule of law and its future roadmap that can be quite encouraging for a neighboring country like” Nepal.
