20 May 2015 11:15 PM AEST: Police in eastern Nepal have arrested a man for holding two young women in captivity and forcing them into flesh trade. One of the victims is from the town of Itahari in Sunsari district while the other is from Surunga in Jhapa district.

According to Area Police Office at Birtamod in Jhapa, the accused has been identified as Design Rajbanshi alias Jiten. He is the owner of a local hotel named Mechi Top, Annapurna Post reported today.

The police apparently arrested Rajbanshi by acting on a tip-off about a 22 year old girl from Itahari (known only by her second name, Rai) and another 23 year old girl from Surunga (known by her second name, Jogi) who were held hostage ‘for an extended period of time’ at a hotel and forced into prostitution, the publication said.

The accused is currently under investigation at the Area Police Office at Birtamod while the two victims have been ‘rescued’, the local police said.
