Man in Sydney arrested for sexually assaulting a 3 year old girl

8 May 2015 11:25 AM AEST: A man from Sydney’s Epping area has been arrested and charged with ‘aggravated sexual assault, possess child abuse material and possess imitation prohibited firearm’.

NSW POLICE EMBLEMRyde Local Area Command detectives had executed a search warrant at a home in Epping on December 31 last year following reports of sexual abuse of a child.

Police at the time had seized a number of items from the address including computers, mobile phones, electronic storage devices and an antique replica revolver. Further inquires by detectives led to the arrest of a 43 year old man ‘at a home in Epping’ yesterday, May 7.

“The man was taken to Ryde Police Station, where he was charged with six counts of aggravated sexual assault, possess child abuse material and possess imitation prohibited firearm,” a police statement said today.

NSW Police will allege the accused sexually assaulted a 3 year old girl on a number of occasions. He has been refused bail and will appear at Burwood Local Court today, 8 May.
